RouteLens is a live network-observability tool for a technical audience investigating the state of the Internet's core routing.

About the data

RouteLens aggregates publicly available network data for informational and educational purposes. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any company, network, or organisation referenced on it. All company and product names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used for identification only.

Service status

The status shown on the Service health page is taken directly from each operator's own public status page (for example their Statuspage, Google Cloud, AWS, Apple or Meta status feed), as published by that operator and captured at the time shown. RouteLens does not independently test these services and does not assert that any service is, or is not, available.

Routing signals

Routing signals — “routing stability”, origin changes, prefix flaps, announcement counts and the live activity feeds — are derived from public Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) data (RIPE RIS and similar) using the methods described on each page. BGP routing behaviour is not a measure of a service's availability: a network can show routing activity while its services are fully operational, and a service can fail while its routing is perfectly stable. These signals are observations, not statements of fact about any operator's service quality.

Accuracy & warranty

Data is aggregated automatically, cached, and may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. It is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose. Nothing here is advice; do not rely on it for operational or commercial decisions.
